Zastosowanie

The CCT test cabinets are used to perform automatic, cyclic corrosion tests according to the most popular standards used by automotive manufacturers. An additional feature of CCT chambers is the ability to perform a standard salt melt test according to EN ISO 9227 and water condensation tests – both with constant humidity values as well as with variable temperature or temperature and humidity values according to EN ISO 6270-2.

Cyclic Climate Test (CCT)

The CCT tests has been developed to evaluate the corrosion protection predominantly in the automotive inductry by using accelerated laboratory tests. The idea behind the CCT tests is to simulate the actual conditions in which the vehicles are normally being used. These tests are cyclic in nature, meaning that the test specimens are exposed to changing climates over time.
Tests cpecimen are plased in an test chamber and exposed to essentially four type of climates:

  • Salt spray in accordance with EN ISO 9227 (NSS, ESS lub CASS),
  • Water condensation according to EN ISO 6270-2 (CH, AT lub AHT),
  • Aeration with room air or air according to DIN 50014 (dla VW PV1210),
  • Forced drying with warm air acording to GMW 14872.

The number of cycles is repeated and therefore is the total test duration variable.

The example, cyclic climatic test (VDA 621-415) is shown below:
