IP Protection Water Test Chamber SPK

The specified water test chamber allows the customer to do tests in accordance to
the international standard IEC 60529:1989 + A1:1999 + A2:2013. It allows also testing in accordance to ISO 20653, JIS D203 and DIN EN 60068-2-18.

Different types of protection tests:

• IP X1 – Dripping water (Option),
• IP X2 – Dripping water when tilted up to 15° (Option),
• IP X3 – Spraying water at any angle up to 60°,
• IP X4 – Splashing water,
• IP X5 – Water jets (Option),
• IP X6 – Powerful water jets (Option),
• IP X9K – High-pressure water jets (Option).

Features

Technical Specifications:

• Internal dimensions of the testing room: 1500 x 1500 x 1500 mm,
• External dimensions: width 1970 mm (plus 2300 mm inclusive injection tunnel for IPX5/6),
• Depth: 1700 mm (plus 500 mm for IPX9K),
• All parts of the testing room are protected against corrosion,
• The front door has a size of 800 x 750 mm,
• The front door has a hand-operated windscreen wiper,
• A switchable testing room lighting belongs to the standard scope of supply,
• A waterproof duct (100 mm diameter) for external cable and hose connections on the DUT belongs to the standard scope of supply.

Turntable:

• The diameter of the turntable: 300 mm,
• The turntable can be adjusted in height,
• The rotational speed is selected on the operating panel (1-5 rpm),
• The turntable can be loaded with max. 20 kg.

Swiveling Tube for IP X3 and IP X4

• The distance between the nozzles is 50 mm (according to DIN),
• The nozzles have a diameter of 0,4 mm,
• The jet direction of each nozzle can be adjusted by a ball joint,
• The nozzles can be removed for cleaning purposes,
• The flow rate is detected by a flow controller (measuring range: 0-5 l/min).,
• The water pressure is measured by a pressure sensor.

Options for rotational rails:

• Increasing the flow rate of the swiveling tube: Pump for testing in accordance IPX4K (Working pressure 4 bar),
• Extension of the measuring range for the flow rate to the additional range of
  0-25 l / min.

Equipment for spray tests (Drip Box)

• In the dripping water box are 336 nozzles installed,
• The dripping water box has a dripping area of 300×400 mm,
• The dripping nozzles are mounted in a raster of 20×20 mm,
• The stainless steel dripping nozzles are 15 mm long,
• The dripping nozzles have a diameter of 0,4 mm.

Tests with high pressure of water IP X5 / IP X6

• The tunnel is inserted at one of the two doors of the water test chamber,
• The two water jets (nozzle: 6.3 mm, 12.5 mm diameter) using the water of the test chamber,
• The water pressure is measured by a pressure sensor (range 0-1,6 bar),
• The flow rate is detected by an electromagnetic flow controller (measurement range 3-120 l/min),
• Relevant valves are switched by the PLC.
